A couple of days ago I finally received my brand new HTC Desire (featuring a SLCD-screen instead of the OLED and Android 2.2) that I ordered ages ago. Thus I soon will start posting Android stuff here, and as soon as I finish my masters thesis I'll start writing software for Android too (and posting about it here).

The default keyboard shortcut application in gnome, as you might have noticed, isn't worth very much. You can only assign keyboard shortcuts to a list of predefined commands. Not very valuable really. It is however possible to define up to 12 custom keyboard shortcuts in a slightly more complicated manner. (Some people have said it's possible to define up to 32 shortcuts, but I haven't been able to define more than 12.
As you might have noticed there hasn't been very much activity on gsmblog lately. This is due to the fact that I have been busy getting the new version of gsmstuff.net running, and also been traveling a bit lately. But updates should be more regular from now on.
Did you now that is possible to get totally free pushmail on your symbian phone? All you pay for is data traffic if you use via GPRS/UMTS. And if you have a good data traffic plan it would be totally free. The solution works really great via WLAN, and on most GPRS/UMTS networks. Some operators however automatically close idle connections, but often this can be avoided by forcing the access point (AP) to give you a public IP-address.
