Safely storing passwords

LastPass LogoFor a long time now I've been using Biowallet and Biowallet2browser for my password storage needs. I really liked the idea of having all of my passwords, credit card information, etc. stored encrypted on my phone but still available in the browser with the click of a button (and confirming access on the phone). Nutshell case

When purchased my new Samsung Galaxy S2 I naturally also ordered a new handmade custom Nutshell case for it. It's currently in production so I'm hoping it will be here within a week or two. My new droid: Samsung Galaxy S2

Complete re-design of gsmblog.net

I'm busy working on a complete re-design of gsmblog.net. I really needed a break from my minecraft plugin so I decided to spend some time working on my websites instead. First out is gsmblog.net. I have really started to hate the design of this site, and I wanted to replace it with something clean, simple and nice. HTC Desire mass storage fail on Debian

TuxEver since I got my HTC Desire I've had trouble using it in mass storage mode on Debian. The problems occur booth on Squeeze and Lenny. Instead of showing up as /dev/sdx#, only the first partition of the memory card shows up, and it shows up as /dev/sdx. /dev/sdx can be mounted, and copying from the memory card works fine. Copying to the memory card doesn't work. It looks like everything is hunky dory, but the files are actually never saved on the memory card. Partitioning the memory card doesn't work either. Gparted shows the whole memory card as «unpartitioned».Read more »»

Fix gmail pushmail fail after ROM-update

Android logoI just updated the ROM on my Android HTC Desire to LeeDroid 3.3.3 the other day. After upgrading, I suddenly noticed that my gmail was no longer being pushed to my phone even though I had heaps of internal memory free. I finally found out that obviously gmail push has problems when settings have been restored using Titanium Backup. I simply had to enable, and then disable the settings to get things to work.Read more »»

Oregon 550t for geocaching

About a year ago I got really into geocaching. I promptly got so busy working on my master's thesis that I had to put it off, and then completely forgot about it. This summer I re-discovered it, and found out that my girlfriend was really enjoyed it as well. So geocaching is now officially our new hobby. To celebrate this, I purchased an Garmin Oregon 550t GPS for using on our geocaching trips. So far I've been really satisfied with it, and it's really nice to be able to go geocaching in pouring down rain without worrying about damaging the equipment. SIMtrace hardwareWhile at the Chaos Communications Camp I purchased a SIMtrace card.

Osmocom SIMtrace is a software and hardware system for passively tracing SIM-ME communication between the SIM card and the mobile phone.

I've already got it set up and running, and played around with it a bit. Hopefully I'll have some time to do some true SIM-sniffing soon.Read more »»
